C.W.C./W.C.G. Camp Meeting 2014 Activities “Joy To The World” “Joy to the World, the Lord is come. Let earth receive her King” could be heard coming from the CWC/WCG Missionary Cottage every morning as the women sang their theme song for the week. There was much joy in the cottage and around the camp as we celebrated Christmas in August. As one approached the cottage, they were greeted by St Nicholas standing at the door. The inside was decorated for Christmas and the joy of Christmas could be felt and heard. There was a great deal of activity in the cottage every day. We were blessed to hear from different women from around the state of Virginia speaking on “There is Joy in Serving Jesus,” “Count It All Joy” and “The Joy of the Lord is Your Strength,” There was a representative from “Operation Christmas Child” and from “Joy Ranch.” They shared about these ministries and what God is doing through them. Each conference was well attended with anywhere from 27-40 people. The highlights of each evening were the fellowship and refreshments in the cottage following the service. It was a wonderful opportunity for folks to come in and relax as they visited with one another and enjoy a tasty snack. We ended the week with a “COGVA’s Got Talent Show” on Friday night. Several people shared their talents through, song, storytelling and poems. The audience judged each participant and at the end chose two winners. Judy Joness won first place with her beautiful rendition of “Come On, Rings Those Bells.” Dr. Bob Neace came in second with his tall tale that left us all laughing hysterically. The CWC/WCG concluded their week with Audrey Weiger, from Indiana, as the guest missionary speaker on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Audrey spoke on “Joy Unspeakable, and J.O.Y. ~ Jesus, Others and You.” Audrey and her husband, Joshua have a real love for people and look forward to leaving for Germany and the Middle East in 2015 along with their precious little girl, Emma and their soon to be new born child. A special “Thank You,” goes to all the CWC/WCG officers and members for all they did to make the week an enjoyable one. They worked hard, in unity and with served with joy!
